Besides my dissertation proposal, for which I just received this grant, I am engaged in a number of projects, among them:

  • a study of professional identity among laid-off and working newspaper journalists, in collaboration with Ph.D. colleague Amber Willard and organizational behavior scholar Caroline Bartel;
  • ongoing analyses of national survey data on the implications of new technologies for journalism and political communication, as part of the Center for Journalism and Communication Research, of which I’m a founding member and its student director;
  • and an edited volume on “News in the Future,” led by Maxwell McCombs
